“The value is in what gets used, not in what gets built”

Marco Taiocchi

Group Product Manager

Marco has always been driven by a need to explore, whether that means venturing into a new part of the world or diving deep into a problem no one has fully mapped yet. At Mover, that instinct shapes his role as Group Product Manager, which spans the full arc of delivering value, from discovering which problems are actually worth solving, to making sure customers keep getting real value from the product long after they've gone live. “The value is in what gets used, not in what gets built,” he says, and that's the compass he navigates by.

He has a background in industrial management engineering, and before Mover he was standardizing processes and automating operations for large companies with EY in Milan. He then moved to Denmark, and joined Mover as a Process Consultant, mapping the company's own internal workflows and finding ways to improve efficiency. It wasn't long before he realized most of the improvements he wanted depended on the product itself, which is how he became a Product Owner, then Product Manager. That background still shapes how he works: survey the landscape first, understand the problem, measure it, and then decide which direction to take.

One project stands out to represent how Marco approaches his day to day work, not because complex or long, but because impactful in its simplicity: Notes, a feature that began as a single customer's request to move a tracked spreadsheet into the product, and grew, after Marco and the team discovered the same need across other customers, into something now used on thousands of routes driven in Mover. It's a good example of how he sees the job: not chasing every trail, but exploring problems through data and customer insight, to find the few that really matter. “Everyone thinks the hard part is deciding what to build or how,” he says. “The hard part is saying no to the other hundred good ideas.” That same curiosity shows up off the clock, too.

Whether the territory is a user problem or a new stunning landscape, the instinct is the same: go further, look closer, and find the one detail that changes how you see the whole picture.
