“Technology itself does not fix bad processes. It should serve a lean, well-defined process, not the other way around.”

Nikolaj Kindberg

Operational Excellence Manager

After 5 years in Mover's Operations, Nikolaj Kindberg is now building something that didn't exist at Mover before him: an Operational Excellence function.

Before Mover, Nikolaj spent time at Aarstiderne in Customer Service and Operations. Today he is accountable for finding untapped potential, driving the change, and handing it to the function that owns it. Not one-off fixes, but a repeatable engine for improvement across the organization.

Despite the name, Operational Excellence’s scope doesn't stop at operations: it reaches into pricing, commercial work, and the interfaces between internal functions. That breadth creates its own challenge:

“There's no shortage of good ideas. The hard, but important, part of the job is prioritizing well and shipping things that move the right numbers. Because in the end, a service company lives or dies on doing the fundamentals consistently. At scale. Every single day”, he says.

Off the clock, Nikolaj rarely sits still. You can often find him on the golf course, where long-term performance comes from practicing the fundamentals, not buying new clubs. That same logic runs through his work with Operational Excellence: “Technology itself does not fix bad processes. It should serve a lean, well-defined process, not the other way around. Anyone can vibe code a prototype, but making it work in production is the hard part”, he says.

As technology evolves, he expects operators to spend less time executing and more time orchestrating and quality-assuring automated work.

“The bottleneck is no longer execution or intelligence. It is the quality of the specification.”
